2012 GLK 350 Electrical Smell
Daughter cam home the other night and parked the GLK in the garage and there was a strong electrical smell. From the limited research I have done some suggest replacing the PCV valve also known as the crankcase vent valve or oil separator cover. Would an oil drip cause such a smell? We had new brakes installed about 6 months ago so don't think that is an issue. I have not been able to duplicate the smell since that one time occurrence. Car has 77,000 miles, any thoughts?

If she did some "spirited" driving on the way home it could be the smell of hot brakes.

If something electrical burnt most likely you would have a warning light or something won’t work properly. Try everything. Burnt electronics usually smell for awhile . Use your nose under the hood , inside and in back where the AC outlet, Aux battery and electronics are.
