P203D how to replace sensor in DEF tank
Folks, I've had the P203D for a while now, which is the def tank sensor. I live in California, deleting DEF is not an option, but I've heard the stealerships will charge $3-4k to replace it. I can find the part (MB, not aftermarket) for around $1,000. Has anyone replaced it and have some instructions, etc.? I've also heard that it could be due to poor connections. Is there a way to access the connector to the tank without dropping a lot of stuff? If anyone has a video or step-by-step instructions, I'd appreciate it. This error doesn't affect the systems ability to reduce emissions, it just says when the tank is full (which seems dumb; it should mainly be concerned with the tank being almost empty).

I was just about to call the dealer to ask; I know they didn't do anything in the DEF tank, so it wouldn't surprise me for them to say that part is not part of the correction and extended warranty. Let's see what they say....

The DEF tank which includes sensor and heater (that's what fails typically), the spray nozzle, and the wiring are all covered under the AEM warranty.
I would be adamant they fix it at no cost as it's integral to the emissions system working properly. If they complain or pushback, call MB NA Corp. and they will admonish the dealer accordingly.

You are fortunate as it broke after the AEM (for Field Measure). Mine broke half year before Mercedes-Benz Canada announced the Field Measure, so had to pay 3k for the repair.
