15 GLK250 Blind Spot Inoperative - unable to enable

I know there are many threads on this, but I didn’t want to waste money on switching out modules if it might be something else.

my GLK was first getting intermittent messages for the blind spot inoperative and then one day just stopped working, I turned it off from the settings as I didn’t like the orange triangles showing up all the time.

i took out both the sensors, cleaned them up they did not seem corroded and wires seemed ok.

i ran diagnostics with my Icarsoft MB V3.0 and all it comes up is with the instrument cluster message for the blind spot inoperative which doesn’t help and also two other faults for the front doors that says ’Communication With The Central Gateway Has A Malfunction. The Message Is Missing’

Not sure if that has anything to do with this but I cannot even enable the blind spot system from the setting just says ‘deactivated’ has no option to press ok to enable.

any help would be great as I am out of ideas.

Thanks

The dealership has been replacing blind spot sensors under a voluntary recall for many years now for free. Just go visit your dealer and ask them. It may not cost anything if you need a new sensor.

Any way I can see the recall for a faulty blind spot sensor?

As is typical ... simply go here and enter your VIN to see any recall notices
