Mounted a 20" 105W ledbar on my GLK. Used a XBB OBD dongle with bluetooth relay that has two outputs, 15A for the highbeam and 5A for thr DRL light. Very easy to fit, just add power, +12V and ground and setup the rest with the app.
Got very nice outcome with plenty off more light and also not so bad looks with the DRL light. I'm very pleased with the update.
Who did the ECU programming and what options do they provide (ie, can then disable SCR system, etc)? I would be interested to compare their tuning to what I've had from OETuning.
I ran their DEF-delete Stage 1 tune for about 2 years before the emissions fiasco that went down, resulting in new MB software and DPF. We don't have many tuning options on this side of the pond.
The programming was done by finnish "cdituikku". He provide several "tuning" companies here in Finland with his tunes. He is specialised mostly in MB, but also does BMW and VAG diesels, Delphi and Bosch systems. Nice clean and smooth tune, done right without smoke or any other issues, no engine light or error codes, everything work like stock, DPF regeneration works, the cluster fuel consumption shows right etc.. Doesn't need deleting any DPF or catalyst, but he can do it if wanted. The exhaust isn't the limiting factor on these. Usually it's the injectors and with a big injector setup(like on 4-matics and GLK, Vito, Sprinter..) the limiting factor is the rail-pump.
He did mine tune for max power and with EGR software delete. He also tuned the transmission, reduced slip, faster shifts, no so sensitive downshift, the car uses the torque better and save fuel on light highway drive ~0,5-1 liter less fuel per 100km, maybe even more..
