Oil leak on after oil change picture

Just had the 2013 glk350 serviced and as soon as I got home I noticed a drop of oil on the ground at the very front of the car by the fan. Car never leaked oil and has been completely dry, they also said everything was perfect shape. Here is a picture, it’s away from the engine, note a small area by the electrical connector and on the bottom tray. I hope it’s just spilled oil.

I think it's spilled oil. Unless I'm forgetting something, there's nothing to leak oil there.

I do all the oil changes on our 2014 350 Base (and all other vehicles).

First off, the oil filter - the filter is actually a cartridge and there is a screw-down cover.
The cover is on the TOP side of the engine, and screws in downward ... so, the filter is ON TOP, up front of the engine.
I show a photo of it in one of my recent threads, here:

So, anyway, when you unscrew the filter cover, then pull out the filter cartridge, it's very possible that oil might drip down.
Also, some shops suck out the oil from the top of the engine (thru dipstick tube) and when they remove the suction tube, oil may drip as it's removed.
I'm not stating this IS the cause of what you're seeing, but I it's highly probable.

If it were me, I'd clean the area with the stain, then keep a watch on it, for any more new drops of oil.

Thanks for the replies guys, that makes sense.
I tried to wipe it all but seems like I’d need to spray some degreaser as I can’t reach all the way down there from the top. I wiped as much as I could and it seems there are no new oil drops on the floor.
Thanks for the link, looks like it quite possible that’s what happened, not sure why they didn’t clean it up while there but I remember the mechanic had a small rag in his hand and hood was open when I went to pick it up, he was gonna go get something but when he saw me he went back and said all is done and good to go, and closed the hood lol
