Is it possible to add Distronic plus to GLK

hello people
i am planning to buy a GLK and looking at ads currently. But one with radar cruise control is very hard to come by.
is it possible to upgrade the car afterwards and add radar cruise control ? i use radar cruise control and auto steering in my current car a lot and i would be very happy if i can upgrade a GLK with it.
i am looking at facelifted GLK's.
there are radar sensors and for the glk in ebay. but do i need dealer tools to install them? code them to car etc?
if necessary can i do that coding with the mb star diagnostics tool they sell on aliexpress ?
i am in Spain by the way if that helps. i happily drive to Germany for this.

Yes it's possible. You don't need star diagnostics you need a j2534 passthru device and vediamo or DTS Monaco.

Looks like it. If I didn't have a manual transmission I'd try the retrofit too but I'm sure there's no way for me to get it to work.

MB’s of all kinds.
Definitely possible. Parts, labor and coding. However is worth the cost?
I don’t think I would do it to my 2015 GLK350 with 50k miles.

You are looking at about 5200$ USD for the primary sensor (212-900-46-03), 2X bumper sensors (000-905-57-01), Mercedes-Benz Star emblem (164-888-04-11), bracket (212-885-03-14), and steering column from a dealership at MSRP. That's not including the wire harnesses. Maybe around 1400$ for the parts as used.

Depending where you go, the price is variable for labor and programming. Most likely, they would need to make new wiring unless you want to pay for the main wire harness from the dealership. The mechanic would need to take apart the majority front end of the car. Cars with the radar have a different brake modulator valve (172-431-60-12), but it may not be necessary to switch this part. The steering column shifters needs to be switched as well.

I've been digging all around to see if it's possible and recently reached out to a mercedes retrofit specialist in the Netherlands and got this answer:

Lukas,

not worth the hassle

for the x204 you will need a different ESP control unit and that requires a different ABR brakepump and a different ESP connector with different contact pins (for all the wires in the EESP connector) and the different ABR pump requires a couple different brakelines

...and then you still need to get it all version coded and that cannot be done with online SCN coding as the distronic optioncode cannot be added to existing datacards
Sooo it's a lot of work outside of just getting the right sensors it seems.. I will bother a couple local shops in my area too, but it seems best course of action might just be buying one with Distronic Plus to begind with.
