How to illuminate speedometer digits - '13 GLK350

Does anyone know if there is a way to illuminate the speedometer digits? I keep the display on the economy gauge to show fuel usage, and would really like the numbers lit up at night (too many speed cameras around here ).

Thanks!

Is everything dark? Radio, door and steering wheel buttons ? If so enter the Engineering Mode , look up the 3 button code to enter, then scroll around until you find it

I suspect he's referring to the low readability of the numbers around the outside of the speedo. I have the same complaint; sometimes under some conditions there just isn't enough contrast, or something like that. Other times it's fine .

Isn’t that adjustable through the steering wheel menu buttons ?

Buttons etc light up ok, it's just the speedometer digits.

Kind of an off-the-wall solution, but here's what I went with. I only use it for road trips, and it takes the place of my spare phone running Torque Pro - doesn't do as much, but it's a whole lot simpler to use, and I like the "heads up speedo" function (and have it also displaying coolant temperature, battery system voltage and altitude, as well as time, RPM and speed, of course).

Just a long, skinny flat cable to the OBD port under the dash. Since I was only installing it temporarily, I just routed the cable around the left side of the dash, so about a foot or so of it is visible (if you crane your neck a bit). It's got a couple different mounting options, but I found the suction cup on the windshield to be the easiest - I put it on months ago, and haven't had to touch it.

It really IS nice to be able to look straight ahead and get the info you really need.
