My COMAND media system has failed - I think it may be CAN system gremlin: bad capacitor, ground fault, or perhaps water ingress (ground fault). There's no indication (water at fuse boxes, cabin smell, steaminess, etc) of water entry anywhere though.
I pulled the codes below using a Foxwell NT710 because the entertainment and media system (COMAND) started to cut out then restart. When the COMAND restarted, however briefly, all functions were fine. Now the COMAND does not start at all. The display and back-up camera are dysfunctional as well. As occurred with @Jasien139 , I have the Own button cycling light (one 1 sec, of 4 sec) when the dash lights are in (dusk).
When the driving lights are on (ie. dusk to dawn) the COMAND "On" button on the volume dial is illuminated, but it pulses off for 4 seconds then re-lights for 1 sec.
ECO is unavailable: the green ECO light comes on in the centre console button in Ignition 2 position, but when the engines is started, the ECO light goes off, and remains off. ECO remains unavailable (see code U113800 below).
Tests Performed
Before COMAND became completely dysfunctional, built in Reset performed using the COMAND rotational controller. That device also works fine: Foxwell's active test features showed putting press and rotation tests are correct.
All fuses are good: US :HD model so front SAM is on LHS in front off driver firewall. Aux battery is 12.85v. Main battery is 12.47v after sitting overnight.
Both batteries have been disconnected to discharge system capacitance and reconnected. No change.
