So I am replacing some exhaust temperature sensors, and i had to move the air pump check valve, part 002 540 70 97, out of the way. I see this boot like thing that looks like a connector, but is not connected to anything. It is part number A 117 078 09 81 . It is called a sieve insert or a valve insulator. See photo for diagram and actual part. It seems that is properly is not connected to anything other than air pump valve. But just wanted to check that before I put all this stuff together and realize I messed something up later. Does this thing just stay dead end off of the air pump check valve?
