Some good pics of a vehicle with night package and also AMG line black nappa interior.
Benz always done this with the light when entering/exiting vehicle? Nice touch,

I noticed this in another pic but didn't realize it was being projected by the GLS. If it is being projected, I haven't read anything about this feature, have you?

I just read the same thing 5 mins ago....
Speaking of infotainment, Apple CarPlay will be available when the GLS goes on sale in the US at the end of March, but Android Auto fans will have to wait a little longer. A Mercedes spokesman confirms that the tech is coming, but there isn't yet a clear timeframe for its arrival. Other available features include the latest iteration of Benz's Comand infotainment system, complete with an 8-inch display and center console touchpad controller. For even more connectivity, an optional mbrace Connect package offers features like remote vehicle start, remote locking/unlocking, and roadside assistance through an Apple iPhone or Android app.

That is the first I've read anything about CarPlay coming to the GLS. This is very good news (for me at least). I've wanted CarPlay in my vehicle for several years and it appears I'll finally have it.
But I'll believe it when I see it. Recall the new C class was to have CarPlay but when it finally hit showrooms in the US last year, no CarPlay and no explanation why CarPlay was missing. MB even released a demo of CarPlay in the new C class. I'm sure the author of the CNET article didn't pull that out of thin air. MB likely provided all reviewers printed material that listed CarPlay.
Thanks guys for the posts.

I would expect the next full redo (2019) will have a digital dash similar to the S and upcoming E. The 2017 GLS is only a mid-cycle refresh.

That is a beautiful dash for sure but I can't imagine any car maker moving from an analog to electronic dash for a mid-cycle refresh. Think of how much redesign would be involve just to rewire the GLS for an electronic dash. That being said, I would be surprised (even shocked) if the 2019 GLS does not have a fully electronic dash along with a brand new overall design.

Good point. I guess the issue I have as well as many others is the S class of SUVs is not appropriate if it doesn't carry components of the S class. On top of this, they release the E class with this beautiful interior, it makes no sense.
Don't get me wrong, I still love the GL/GLS for what it is but MB set the bar incorrectly.

Calling the S class of SUV's is a stretch for sure but MB already committed to the new naming nomenclature. Leaving it a GL for the next 2 or 3 years wouldn't make sense.
Competition in the large luxury SUV market is heating up and the BMW X7 is coming. Look for a big splash from MB when they unveil the 2019 GLS. I'm betting it will be the S-class of SUV's (with a price tag to match).
