I ordered a GLS350 with most options. Option prices were the same as 2016 except premium package and driver assistance package. Prices are in my previous post.

Congrats. Interesting they had a price for active curve for you (3700). For 550s it was unavailable a few days ago

Not on 550 even now! Configured a 550 but Active curve pricing was not available.

Does the GLS550 with 211 Black Leather have the stitched dashboard in leather? Or does the stitched dashboard only come with the designo nappa leather option? Also is there a choice on the stitch color or is that fixed?

thinking that may be somewhat credible seeing as tho the diesel is not included in that expected release

Guys,
I want opinion on 450 Vs 550 lease. I like the V8 on my '13 450. The new V6 is quick but not as refined as a V8. I can feel the vibrations and turbo's. My 450 build is $92,500, pretty close to 550 but my dealer says that the monthly payments will have a huge difference (500-600) bcos of MF and residual value. Please advise.. Thanks!

If its a lease, and the monthly payment has such a wide discrepancy, then I'd go with the 450 regardless of how close the MSRP's are.

But, really, that residual value shows just how much depreciation that MB thinks the 550 will get compared to the 450. Which is to say, a ton, with a monthly difference of 5-600. What is your lease term?

36 Months! Those were my thoughts as well, so ordered 450.

Your salesman has no idea at this point what MF is, same for residuals. Unless they are now available from MBF now that we are in April? Unlikely tho seeing as tho the car has yet to be released.

Historically I think the residual on a 450 isn't much better if at all over a 550, unless I'm mistaken.

The 550 would need to be pretty heavily optioned out to be 500-600 more, a month, than a 93k 450 build.

Historically, 550's have lower residuals than 450's. I assume that is what his salesman is going by.

550's cost more at the front end as well as on the back end depreciation, so it's basically pay to play. That being said, I was definitely tempted to get the 550 as I'm purchasing and planning on keeping it for longer than 3 years.

understood, but 550/month or so over 36 months is what? 20k?

so let's say disaster scenario depreciation is 5% worse on the 550. that's 5k. let's say sticker is 7k more than that 450 he spec'd out. That's 13.5k total, conservatively taking into account borrowing costs.

that's about 375/month.

500-600 more seems high for a 100k msrp 550 relative to a 93k 450

Throw in another 1k for tax and license... and the rest MF. But, yeah, doesn't quite pencil out.

Actually, 93k for a 450 is the highest I've heard of, so lets also assume that the 550 is fully loaded as well. Perhaps several thousand over 100k. That would explain the difference.

MF is high on the GL550 (GLS550) because they make so few of them which creates much higher demand. That MF decreases on the more mass produced models. They're not going to give away 550s at 350/450 factors regardless of MSRP deltas.

got the pricing on both our GLSs on order.. both were confirmed but now for some odd reason, one has been delayed from April, to May and now to June... and the other one from May to June to now July..
not sure whats going on but quite frustrating.. and we know its not the dealer, we've dealt with these individuals for a decade.. they too unsure why the delay in arrival..
may have a lot to do with the launch time, which still has NOT happened
