Re-ordered GLS450 today
Finally decided not to wait for GLS350.
Changed to GLS450 today. ETA August.
One question : do I need to buy the prepaid 36m services?
My dealer also charged rim lock, is it needed?

About the locks I don't recommend it, the reason why is because I use to have it in my former S550, well one day I decide take off one lock to test it, guess what? when I try to remove the lock the key slip and mess the lock, I was not able to take it off so I went to dealer next day and ask them to remove all lock's, I can't imaging be in the middle of no where with a flat tire not able to change it, so think about it.

I am still on the fence of switching out my order. MB Canada has a memo out that the 350 is due for the fourth quarter, so delivery is November or December. The issue I have, if I wait for the 350 with those dates confirmed, what if they delay again? So I could have a 450 here for July is what they offered me, make the switch, MB will match the residual of the 350, which is better here in Canada than the gas engine 450. I can't find anywhere the fuel consumption comparison of the 2017 350 versus 450. It's not a huge deal, but it is the vehicle of choice for my wife and kids, basically the prolific hockey, soccer, ballet, jazz, skating, skiing people mover for us. And this is the third 350 for her, so I am used to the blue tech engine. What to do? Can anyone find some fuel consumption numbers on this vehicle? I need to make up my mind in the next two weeks, change the order to the 450 and have it for end of June beginning of July, or wait until December for the 350 and hopefully it is not delayed anymore.

Take these numbers with a grain of salt, but the German site says the 350 consumes 33 mpg (blended, city/highway) while the 400 (equiv of 450 in US) consumes 26 mpg. This is using their methodology for consumption which is more optimistic than that which is used in the US.
Regardless of whether you ever achieve either number with either vehicle, the difference between the two is definitely noteworthy and material.

Please note that all new model year vehicles must pass government-mandated emission certification tests to be deemed legal to sell, and that this certification process is conducted by a third party. We were just recently notified that the certification process on our diesel vehicles has been delayed to as late as Q4, resulting in a delay in the launch of our new diesel models. As such, we asked all of our dealers to contact their customers with pending orders to offer them alternative options.
As this certification process is conducted by a third party, we sincerely regret to inform you that we do not have an estimate as to when the vehicle will be delivered.
I been thinking switching to 450 or 550. The torque of 450 is not strong as the 350, and the mpg of 550 pretty high. With the extra cost of the 550 and fuel cost will it be worth it I am not sure. I am leaning toward wait but who know what's going to happen.

If I change my order to a 450, the delivery for me is mid July, build date of June. That was the original date and build of the 350 I placed an order for a few months back. Still deciding on making the switch to 450.
