A couple things I noticed....
My GLS450 idles high for the first start of the day. If I let it run for about 3mins or so the idle reduces.
Today I was sitting waiting for my wife with the engine running for about 3 or 4mins and felt a slight jerking motion as if someone bumped the back of the vehicle. No one was around.
Anyone experience either of these?

Perhaps the Eco function restarting the engine while you're stopped is responsible for the sensation of the GLS? I notice this when I stop at a light with the A/C running. Eco mode will stop the engine momentarily, but when it senses it needs engine power for the A/C it starts the car again before I take my foot off the brake and I feel the car sort of lurch when it does this.

Nope, I was waiting outside a store with the engine idling when I experienced this. I'm familiar with the Eco issues and usually turn it off when I drive. My wife likes Eco but I can do without it.

I think it's the parking brake setting itself. My GLE does it after sitting still about 5 minutes and I have read others stating theirs does it too. I assume the GLS is doing the same thing. I thought someone bumped me from the rear too when it happened and others stated similar feelings in the GLE forums.

Probably some kind of safety feature but I've noticed mine several times now when I'm sitting and idling for a few minutes. I hear the parking brake set and feel as if the car gets bumped from the rear. But what is weird is the car never gets this "bumped" feeling when I normally park the car and the brake sets itself then like in a parking space to get out or my garage at home. But I'm pretty sure this bumped feeling you get after idling for awhile is the parking brake setting itself. I just don't understand why it has to move the car a little to set itself.
