What's the best price dealers are offering for GLS450?
Hi,
I am trying to get a sense of how much GLS owners are getting their vehicles for? For $80k vehicle, is 10% under MSRP too aggressive? Maybe we can get that for 2017 model if there are still any?
What is the best price you got for your GLS?
Thanks.

2018 GLS450/2016 Range Rover Sport
I got my truck last week and the price I paid for my GLS450 almost full loaded(I though it full loaded but it is not, dealership doesn't have more information for 2018 model before truck arrived). Only 1% loyalty discount and I paid $100k before tax(13%).

Thanks, that does sound fully loaded, enjoy the beautiful ride. 1% is outrageous for $100k vehicle, so it was $101,000 and you agreed to $100,000? My local dealer was willing to give me $6000 off GLS450 (I think he was talking about 2017 model, but afaik there aren't any changes from 17 to 18)

I don't see what is difference between 2017 and 2018, but the MRSP increased CAD2100 in 2018 for no reason. My truck doesn't have off road package. It's very limited supply in Canada for this vehicle. No 2017 stock and 2018 just arrive in Toronto by last weekend. I would like to have 6000 discount for 2017 model compare with 2018...

This is not a high volume vehicle like C300 so some dealers try to maximize profit while others will sell for less because demand is low (some areas don't have many customers who can afford $80k).
Best bet is to do an RFQ at end of month by calling dealers near end of month and having them email quotes by a set deadline. Then call to follow up with stragglers.
With all that in mind I paid 10% under MSRP in October 2017 in NorCal. Should be easier now to negotiate 10-15% on a 2017 model. Particularly before Aug 31 end of month.

Keep in mind this depends completely on the local market and date of purchase. The best price I was offered in SoCal was $4000 more than what I paid in NorCal. But could be different next month. Also the model was very new when I purchased and now it has been out a while so demand may not be as high.

I was also about to drop GLS due to pricing, despite the low MF and not-so-terrible residual because I was seeing that I could be comfortable with $79k build, which gets me $1000/mo lease incl taxes. But if 15% is possible, that will drop my payments to $871 and that is totally doable.
Suddenly GLS is back in picture!
PS: I am passing on X5 because I don't want to be driving "the old model" when the new X5 is released next year. Is it possible I would have same problem with GLS in a year? Or MB is not expected to refresh it for '19MY? To be honest, I still wouldn't mind driving the older body GL either.
I am in NY and I don't mind driving 4-5 hours to get a good deal, so if anyone has particular dealer suggestions, please feel free to PM me or post in this thread (if allowed by forum rules).
Thanks again! ..exited

That's great, thanks for the info.
Any other deals on '17's of the lot? @Boraxo suggests 10-15% off.
If that's the case, coupled with low MF for 17 models I think that's exactly what I might end up doing, but I heard dealers in big cities don't go this low (might depend on the willingness of the SA). If anyone has dealers they can recommend, I'd appreciate suggestions.

Little distance but check with Curt @ Mercedes of Lancaster (Lancaster PA). I've now purchased couple vehicles via Curt with excellent service and price each time. Ijust checked their website and have inventory of 4xGLS450 and 1xGLS550. I ordered a GLS550 via Curt when bought. I told him I wanted best price up front and didn't feel like negotiating (he'll remember me), obviously he gave a good price.
Good luck!

Hi guys
Any other pricing/discount examples or dealer recommendations?
My comfortable built is around 80k and I need to remain under $870/mo, which I can get with 11% off MSRP. One local dealer said max he can do on '17 GLS450 76k was 6k, which is 8% off which gets me to my monthly payment, but it's missing whole lot of things I wanted, and has unnecessary add-ons. I guess the challenge is to find one that has the options I want.

To be helpful - if you need to get to that lease payment in Cali - without throwing a wad of cash at it - you should be scouting "Retired Loaners" - or "Brass Hat" GLS - which qualify for Mercedes Financial new car lease programs - sure - they will have a few thousand miles - but the impact of the discount on these will help bring your payment more in line.

I was just offered a 2017 MB Demo with 2K miles (1/30/17 warranty start date) with an MSRP of $82K for $70,000. Dealer said he probably had "a little room".
Trying to decide if this is a good deal. Any thoughts? It's about 14%, but you lose about 8 months of warranty.

I was thinking more closer to the 64-65k would be ideal.....is that too much to ask....This has all the options we need....and plus since its a CPO we have unlimited miles warranty for 5 years..

I would check on Autotrader.com to see what other cars with that mileage go for but 65k sounds more like it

Keep negotiating...
We just bought a brand new ‘17 msrp of $78k and we paid $70. Plus, they gave us $47k on our ‘17 xc90 for trade.
Also, given that do you do not list the lane tracking package, parking assist package, and lighting package I’d really negotiate hard.
Good luck.

For my case, I bought my 2018 GLS 550 with MSRP of 102k for 92k in Oct 2017, fully loaded WITHOUT B&O sound and Designo Leather. The dealer also had another 550 with Designo leather of MSRP of 105k and offered me 92.5k (basically $500 more for $5000 option). But I finally chose mine (black & black), because the 92.5k is a white + brown one. I think for GLS 450 or 550, 10% off MSRP should be a "good" price. I was told that 12.5% off is the MB employee discount rate. If the dealer is under inventory pressure or striving for quota objective, the discount rate can go deeper. The best price I have ever heard is 17% off a 2018 GLE 350. Hope my input helps.
