Hi all. I already have an offer of 7% off on a 2018 GLS550 from a local dealer. They have a brand new, similarly equipped 2017 GLS550 leftover. Obviously, depreciation will have reduced the value even though it is still a new truck, but how much additional should I expect because of it? Would 15% off list be equitable? Do you think they would go that far, and how much depreciation of a new truck has occurred because of the model year change? I would appreciate any help you all can offer and than you all in advance.

Well...
If you have a 7% off deal on a 2018 GLS550 that has the equip that you want - go for it - since 2-3-4yrs from know you have a one added/newer year of value over a 2017 which will more-than-make-up in future dollars any reasonable additional discount you might get today on a new 2017 which will not be out to 15% off.
In my mind - to get 15% off on a GLS550 - you would need to locate a "dealer demo/service-loaner" or a "brass-hat" Mercedes executive vehicle - and both would qualify for Mercedes new car finance rates and/or Mercedes lease rates - and especially lease the added discount really helps payment wise.
