does GL compatible GLS? I lost a headrest

does GL compatible GLS? I lost a headrest
Hi I have x166 GLS 350d, I losted 3 row head rest, when I back to MB dealer， they told me brand new headrest will cost me around $1000. As I dont use the 3 row much, so I want to get a second hand one, but GLS still new in the market, any idea if I can get a second hand one from GL, do you think they are the same?

I don't believe "old" W164 3rd row headrest will fit "new" X166 3rd row...

I agree with you.
I think W164 dont have 3 row seats, W belong to ML 5 seats, I dont think the old gen X164(7 seats) 3rd row seats same as the new X166.
I remember x166 start from 2012, but it named GL before 2015, and after that it named GLS. and my one is GLS and still under model X166, thats why I am wondering if it is the same part

One way to find out is to jot down the last 8 of your vin. Find any W166 GL for sale online w/ the same color and material interior (MB-tex, leather) and jot down the last 8 of that vin. Find an online parts catalog or go to the parts dept at your dealer and look up the part number for the 3rd row headrest with each of those vins and see if the match.

it may give you guys some idea for the price, exchange to USD, $1NZD= $0,72 USD. so it cost more than $700+ USD

i dont know if they have these places in New zealand but you can try searching for a place that sells parted out GL vehicle parts and maybe you can get it there

or

look for the headrest on ebay
