Power loss 350d
Driving for an hour on a hot day I stopped for 5 mins Upon restart and in sport mode the car had only 50% of its power it felt like it was in safe mode. Changing to eco mode didn't help.
I decided to pull over and turn the car off completely for 2 mins, which fixed the issue.
Car is 18 months old , is this unique to me?

I ask because I experienced a similar issue with my first GL550. It was 2013 model and there was a problem with the DISTRONIC system that would cause the engine power to be greatly reduced to something like 30%. This occurred several times while driving the vehicle. The only solution was to pull over, turn off the engine, and restart the engine. Mercedes was unable to repair it after several attempts so I told them I was considering filing a Lemon-Law claim and they offered to buy it back so I could order a new a new 2014 GL550. I only paid for the mileage I had put on the 13 GL550. It was fair offer.

Thanks JoeMa, I had reserved out of my driveway, put the car into drive and that's when the car had the power loss. The engine felt lifeless and gear change felt odd, like it would hold the gear until a higher rev was achieved.
It has only happened once , hopefully it was an isolated event .
