Any way to permanently disable attention assist?

That damn thing is driving me crazy. Any time I take a decently long drive, the damn thing goes off for no reason, scaring the crap out of me, because it sounds the same as the collision warning. I am NOT tired when it goes off, and it happens even in the mornings, after a good night's sleep. It's either malfunctioning or just plain stupid in what it's reacting to.

I know there's a way to temporarily turn it off in the menu, but is there a way to permanently turn it off somehow?

I believe that the main parameter for the system is time of non stop driving. I think another factor in the calculation is lane correction as when you swerve out of your lane. If its sounding off in the morning after driving an hour or 2 its faulty. I drove a Mercedes van in Europe on which it was faultyand it was always on (cup of coffee). In my experience its never been more than the early yellow bars after 4 hours straight. That time, as a matter of fact, I was getting tired! To see if you can turn it off just go to the assistance settings, all the nanny controls are there (in the MID, not the Command screen).
