This thing is an Economy Car
I have had my GLS for a bit over 1.5 years, and have been enjoying it.
Now before anyone harps on my choice of title words, I am NOT speaking of economy cars in terms of :: flimsy, light weight, low power, low cost, few options, no leather, steel wheels,... or any other set of terms usually reserved to the lesser end of the car marketplace. No, This time I am going to talk about the kind of mileage one can achieve when driving correctly::
Last week I had a chance to drive it for long distances (Austin to Monterey Ca and back) and took some pictures of the instrument cluster along the way (for evidence)
Flagstaff Az to Kingman Az sown hill with a bit of westerly wind
Flagstaff Az to Bakersfield Ca across the blowing desert

This second batch is from Flagstaff towards Roswell (on the way back) also downhill, but with a headwind.
Flagstaff NM to Albaquerque NM
Flagstaff to Roswell NM
Overall, over 3,700 miles I got 26.7 MPH including city driving in Ca for three days and city driving after getting off the major thoroughfares for the night.
This thing sips gas as if it were an economy car.!

Mitch, awesome! Is your GLS a 450? Were you going downhill the entire time? Love my GLS too, but it isn't an 'economy car' just yet.

It is even harder to drive back over the same roads and be going downhill in both directions.
I had a thread about 6 months ago showing me getting 28.3 MPG over 500+ miles and 7 hours. That time it was from Oklahoma city to St. Louis in August. I am augmenting the data from that thread.

Have a 2017 GLS550 and run LA to Phoenix at least once per month and best I have ever got over the 400 mile trip is 21.5 mpg with strong tail wind. Normally see about 20 mpg. This weekend ran first 170 miles from Phoenix with 84 mph average and 19.4 mpg, flat and desert on I 10.
Noticed your trip computer was showing average speed of 61 mph, interstate speed limit in AZ is 75 mph and most vehicles run 82-85 mph on the interstates.
Congrats though, my GLS has never seen that kind of mpg and my 2016 S550 normally runs about 23.5 on this trip.
