2018 GLS 63 engine cutting out
I picked up a 2018 GLS 63 demo vehicle from the dealer right before Xmas with 3000K miles. Everything was great up until today when my engine abruptly cut out twice. Once when i put the car in reverse for parking and the second time when i was stopped at a red light. Both times the engine dies and the entire instrument cluster lights up. Car restarted fine both times but i noticed that eco mode stopped engaging upon breaking on the second restart. It was pretty cold today, around 20 degrees F (or -7 C), if that had anything to do with it.
I don't know if any other owners have experienced anything similar or have insight as to what the issue may be. I got a pretty good deal from the dealer on the demo and am now making me suspicious as to why they were so flexible on price.

That exact same thing happened to me in my 18 S63 except that the car didn't start for almost 10 mins despite trying to start it multiple times.

I had this for a while on the x164 gl. It turned out the dealer tech had not tightend down the clasp for the air filter housing during a service visit. It would intermittently turn off at stop lights and run rough.
I would chdck the air filter housing first just to see if you can close it.
Otherwise it is still under warranty. Bring it to the dealership for a visit. It will be no cost to you and they should sort it out.

So the air filter housing hasn't changed.
It's exactly the same as my vehicle. In 5:48 he mentions closing or pulling the clasp towards you in the back. Check this clasp.
Also chcck the air intake tubing. It is made from a perforated fabric and gets ripped as well leading to hot air entering the engine. That is a known issue.

Took it back to dealer. They checked air filter housing and did an ECU update. Brought it back last weekend and it just stalled again tonight. Any other thoughts as to what might be causing this issue?

My best recommendation - with a copy of the most recent dealer repair order (which has date - miles - VIN# - and issue) - early M-F working hours call Mercedes Customer Care (800) 367-6372 and report this as a unresolved - and SAFETY issue - give them the info to start a "Case" with Customer Care - they will give you a Case# (also called CAC#).
This starts a 3rd channel with MB Customer Care - and MC Customer Care will email this as "Hot Potato" to Service Management at that servicing dealership - and under general mandate you "should" get a call from the dealership within target 48 hrs.
That Customer Care report gets attention - I "know of" a similar problem with a friends GLE63 - - for this issue - - there will be a step-by-step diagnosis protocol given to the dealer by Germany - the 1st step at your more recent service has been done - with this new problem report - that gets uploaded to Germany - and Germany gets back in 1 or two days and directs the next step.
It can be a bit of a process - but at the end of it your AMG will be tip-top...

yes. Please do contact customer service.
They will want proof of service and might want to ask you to bring it to the shop first. They will be on top of it from then on and it will be given the in depth attention and diagnosis it needs.
From what you are describing though, it really sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere.
