S-Class wheels for X166?
We just took delivery of our 2019 GLS today. Everything is fantastic and we absolutely love it!
However we live in a condo building with low garage entrance. We were able to get it in but the rooftop antenna was rubbing the bottom of that garage door. The bottom of the garage door is made of soft rubber/plastic material like a sealer/filler so no damage was done but still we would like to avoid doing that everyday. In order to avoid the rubbing, the car needs to be lowered for 1.5 inch. We called the dealer but they said there is no way to lower air suspension unfortunately. So we are considering getting a set of smaller wheel to lower the car.
It currently has the 20' 10 spoke rims with 275/45/r20 tires. I hate to having to replace it with a set of 19''s. My buddy had a 2016 S63 and he took the wheels off brand new. I was thinking about getting the set for better looking even without the height issue, now seems like it would make more sense to kill two birds with one stone. The specs of the wheels are:
Front: 8.5 x 20 with 285/35/ZR20 38ET
Rear: 9.5 x 20 with 295/35/ZR20 38ET
This ebay listing shows the exact same set.

My understanding is with the same rim size, 285/35/r20 would make the overall height lower than 275/45/r20. The offsets on the AMG wheels are a little lower than the original ones(38ET vs 46ET); The rim width are 8.5/9.5 on the AMG set vs 10 on the original. Would this set work for me? Also do you think using tires with shorter tire wall on heavy SUVs like GLS would negatively affect comfort level, safety level? Making it more fragile on bad road conditions(a lot of pothole and speed bumps in our area)?
EDIT: Load Ratings on the tires from the AMG wheels are 104 vs original 110. It's about 300 lbs less per wheel. We never haul stuff and it's just me and my wife 99% of the time.
If it would work, do I need to swap the sensors of the two sets, or the ones came with the AMG wheels would work on GLS as well?
Thank you for your inputs!
