Wood Steering Wheel

Anyone here have the wood steering wheel and how do you like it? For those who considered it and went with leather, would you share why you opted for leather instead?

I do like the look but when I felt it, I wasn't sure if I would like actually driving with it. I've read that its too hot/cold depending on weather and we do have all 4 seasons here.
Thanks for any insight.

I have had both wooden and leather steering wheels. On my current ML350 I found a wooden wheel on Ebay and replace the leather wheel that came on the car. I like the look of a wooden wheel but it does get hotter in the sun and much colder in the winter. My car stays in the garage most of the time so the heat/cold is not an issue. The leather wheel will get nicks and show wear. so its a personal preference. In fact I sold my leather wheel to someone who leather wheel had deteriorated over the years.
What I would really like is a heated wheel, but I don't.

I like the feel of the wood steering wheel. I think both leather and wood can get hot if in direct sunlight in the summer.
