Looking for Instructions to remove Touch Pad
Bought a CPO 2017 GLS550 with 5500 miles on it (verified and confirmed that the mileage was original). The car was purchased from MB dealer and delivered to San Diego from Palm Springs. After a couple of days driving and learning car's functions, I noticed that the touch pad was acting up. Sometimes it worked absolutely fine and sometimes it would get 'stuck' and become non-responsive.
I took the car to a local MB dealer this afternoon where SA suggested a software upgrade since there was at technical bulletin addressing this specific issue. After the upgrade, the pad quit working all together. The SA said that the pad failed and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately he didn't know whether the touch pad would be covered by CPO warranty and planed to check on it tomorrow morning. As I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, I wanted to post a couple of questions here.
1. Does anyone know how to remove the touch pad from 2017 GLS550?
2. If I get a brand new pad and install it at home, would it require special programming by the dealer?
Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Unfortunately CPO is not covering it. The dealer offered to install it free of charge and sell me the new part at wholesale price which would be about $350. I am now trying to have the dealer that sold me the car to pay for the part since it was a clear oversight on their part.

If that does not work, contact MBUSA. Seems like the part should be covered since it is tied into the command system.
Coverage of most advanced electronic components including COMAND®, navigation system, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Modular Control System (MCS), and CD player.

A quick update -- unfortunately, CPO does't cover the touch pad. I contacted the dealer in Palm Springs, spoke with the General Manager and they offered to cover 50% of the new part's cost (about $175). After speaking with the dealer, I went ahead and contact MBUSA and they covered the part 100%. Got the touch pad replaced by the dealer in San Diego and it now working perfectly.
