Anyone dialed in their wheels?
Looking for some ideas on a wheel setup. Currently running 295/35 r22’s and also have some lowering links that I haven’t installed yet.
Wanted some drop and then fill out the wheel wells. Been searching for nice setups and then trying to figure out the details but have come up empty handed so far.
If anyone has done this mod I’d love to hear about it.
Wheel spacers vs. new wheels with an offset? Staggered?
What tires did you them go with? Did you change the camber at all?
Did you drop the car at all with lowering links?
Thanks in advance for anything you can add to this discussion.

that is my next mod. Summer setup with 285/45/22 , some 22x10.5 all square. Spacers possibly. Im on stock 275/40/21 , wheel well needs more meat for sure. Some recommended a lowering module off Amazon, gor some 500$. I'm new to Mercs and sir suspensions, so i won't mess with control arms and l8nks.

This time have gone with Nexxen tires that were half the price or more and can swap side to side to try to even the wear. Tire shop guy said they suck when I had them shipped there but honestly in the last 5-6k miles they have been comparable to the other more $$$ sets we have used. Time will tell as they wear for the rain traction but again no issues so far.
we have a 550 with catless downpipes and tuned so making 63 level or little higher and the traction dry has not changed.
Setup is not staggered but due to offset of wheels had to add think it was 20mm spacers to push out for better stance.
have a build thread titles “panda build” in the GL X166 section of want to see other random stuff we have done
next for me is wheels: Looking at TSW Sebrings in 22x10.5, shod on Toyo Proxes ST 285/45/22s..
i have great experience with Atturro brand, they were awesome(az805 summers, aw730 winters) on Audis. Cheap, but great, therefore amazing value. Also Lexani LX20/30 are decent summers, for the price. I mean, about 1/3rd of Michelins or Pirellis. But almost same, if not better performance, IMHO. Only reputable brand I still like, of course...Contis, because, well...Ze G ermans gehts Auto.
OE tune soon afterwards.
How is the link lowering work with tge ADS ? Need for spacers?
I was considering that lowerng module on Amazon for some 540$.
Cheers,
Bob

The spacers I added as the wheels I replaced the stock ones with didn’t have quite the right offset for me so added the spacers to push out as far as I could.
I also agree on the Atturo tires as I have them on our tuned/lifted/spacer setup G55. They have been just fine up to 120ish in the G and no problems in rain or anything.
Pre-lift and satin white wrap to match the others

As for the wheels you went with 20mm spacers all around? Do you recall what the offset of the wheels was? On my standard Benz 22” the offset is 45mm. Trying to determine spacers or just get the offset right in the wheels when I order my summer set. Al least if I’m wrong with spacers I can correct easily.
As for the wear on the tires. Did you get or consider getting them aligned and correcting the camber a bit? I’d have to think this would help get more miles out of the tires.
Appreciate the post. Sharp work!

Alignment is checked each rotation and it still never matters. Heavy car and lots of weight shifts to the rear constantly.
I will look up the offset shortly and reply back. EDITED it’s 48

PS: Pardon the dust, but took the rig, fully loaded (crew&gear) on a roadtrip. Toyos are awesome, meaty and sticky. Well planted rallying on curvy backcountry roads. Fronts brakedust a lot due to drilled rotors.
