Bought 2017 GLS550
I bought a 2017 GLS550 Yesterday and it will be delivered on Tuesday. I just realized it's missing Active Steering. I've been searching for other GLS550's and it seems like a pretty rare option for some reason. How important is it? I've done a search and it appears that the people that have it love it. Anyone move forward without it and regret not getting it?
Distronic and Designo interior are my priorities and the one I purchased has those two options.
At this point, I'm leaning towards moving forward with the car that I've agreed to purchase. I really liked the test drive and the car really felt special with the Designo interior and leather stitching on most everything. It has a black exterior and brown designo interior.

They will remedy this issue as 1.3MM vehicles are impacted.
Will dealer not sell you car with recall pending or did you make the call not to buy?
May be a bargaining chip to get them to reduce price...

Yes - The parking brake engagement does take some getting used to especially in garage.
Other thing that is a little different is that you engage a parking brake "hold" by pressing brake peddle all the way down.

Congratulations!!! Yes, please post some pictures. When you turn the car off, yes the transmission shifts into neutral, but once you open the driver's door it shifts into park.
Enjoy the new ride!
I'm also getting more and more impressed with the infotainment system, also a learning curve, but as I play with it more and more, I learn more about what it can do. For some reason my old Ipod sounds really good on the system, but apple play and satellite radio is just OK. I've tried playing with the EQ for those to no avail.
We did a round trip road trip last week about 130 miles and I averaged about 21 mpg which was surprising. Overall fantastic car, the more I look at it and spend time with it, the more I love it.
