Race CHip

Has anyone with the 3.0l Biturbo used the Racechip S? They advertise an additional 45hp and 82 lb-ft torque for < $300

I have used tuners before on a F150 and my C7 Corvette and both woke things up, added low RPM seat of the pants satisfaction... But never a turbo engine.

I went ahead and bough the Race Chip S and hopefully install next week. Once I drive it for a while I'll update the thread.

Installation was quite easy and took a total of around 20 minutes. I have not driven enough to give a fair evaluation but will in a few weeks of driving it to and from work and soccer games. My initial thought was the vehicle "felt" a little quicker. My Z51 with the Diablo Tune had immediate gains that I could feel (I did this two weeks ago). Tire spin out of the gate was more pronounced. The GLS did not have the same immediate effect but I have read that it takes time for the computer to adapt to the Racechip.

Driving now for two days and about 200 miles.

MPG- about the same overall. Around town it seems to be a little more thirsty but on the road driving 55-70mph it gets better milage than before. My normal commute is mixed road and town and ended up being about 1 mph better so.... the same.

Power- Today was different than yesterday as it now has a decent punch at about 1800 RPM and higher that wasn't there before. Noticeable. Made me smile. I saw a video on youtube where a guy reviewed a race chip for another vehicle and said that it took a few days to a week to see/ feel the gains. This has been true for me as well.

For the money I would recommend this for sure.

I had the RaceChip GTS Black for my C43 and considered it for my GL63 but after experiencing it with the C43 went a different way and flashed a custom ECU map that actually came out to be slightly higher output than the RaceChip with minimal change to fuel economy. There is A LOT of headroom to tune these turbo engines without draining the tank.
