2017 Mercedes GLS450

GLS 450 Halogen High Beam

I need to replace a high beam bulb. I can't' figure out how to get the bulb out. It does not turn easy like I think it should. Any help?

Do you have active headlights? They're a whole different animal. On our GLK we have halogen headlights. One bulb twists CCW. The other you push up on the back end and it snaps out.

If it’s anything like my old ML 350, you’ll have to give it some effort to remove it. They can be a real pain to unscrew.

I changed the bulbs today, turn them CCW and the whole bulb assembly with retainer comes out. Then you disconnect the bulb from the canister and harness, insert new bulb the way older one came out (note the little cut out aligns to the top 12 o clock), rotate CW till it locks. Then connect harness. Put the waterproof cover back on. Then the cover in the fender liner and viola. 15 mins
