2019 GLS450

2019 GLS450 Question - We just purchased a certified pre-owned 2019 GLS450 coming from a newer GLE350. I couldn't find a manual for my 2019.

I wondering if all models of my year came with HID headlamps? The color coming out of the projector is throwing me off, looks almost like halogen color wise.

Lastly, at low speeds, both triangles on the side view mirrors are on and a P indicated on the gauge cluster, what is that for?

Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Congratulations on the vehicle! Since you have a GLS450, it does not come with LED headlamps as standard. The standard headlamps on the GLS450 were halogens with small led drls. The LED headlamps came standard on the GLS550 and GLS63 but is an optional package on the GLS450. The package is called 'Lighting Package' for the GLS450. The triangles on the side view mirrors come on at low speeds to just to tell you to be cautious of your surroundings. The 'P' on the gauge cluster means that your car is equipped with the 'Parking Assist Package' which comes with the 'Parktronic w/ Active Park Assist' and the 360 camera.

Congrats. 2019 W166/X166 are the most reliable preowned MBs on the market today.

Please post your VIN and someone can decode it for you. Or you can do it yourself at lastvin.com

It will tell you the option content on your vehicle.

Thank you. I appreciate it. Yes I think you are right mine is halogen. Besides the cutoff, will H7 upgraded LED's function well in these projector's? I believe both Hi/Lo are H7, but I would need adapters for both from what I researched briefly on here.

Thank you. I entered 4JGDF6EE7KB230919 and it gave me an error saying it is too new and not yet entered yet. Good to hear that this model is reliable. Coming from a leased 2021 GLE350, right after taking delivery they discovered the 2nd row seat would not tilt (they are power) to allow access to the third row. Months later, it turned out the whole interior harness had to be replaced. I can't imagine how much that would of cost out of warranty. I hear there are some complaints too about he 2020-2023 GLS models. I hope to not have any issues with this 2019 during the 1 year factory warranty (purchased CPO).

I found a pic of the front, which I guess can confirm not LED lights. I don't have the SUV with me and the vehicle is no longer on the dealer's site.

A screenshot from the dealer's site.

Congrats! I have a 2018 that I picked up in September, same colors as yours. I have put almost 20k miles on mine in that short time and have not had a single issue so far that was not expected. I highly recommend Lasfit LEDs. The fan version for the low beams and the no fan for the high-beams. No errors and it makes an absolutely huge difference at night.

Yes, 2019 and later VINs can't be decoded on the usual sites. It seems no one has found a work around for this yet.

From the photo it looks like non-LED headlamps.

I'm not trying to thread-jack. I think your questions are answered.
I've had a GLS450 since Feb '17. I've done scheduled maintenance & nothing more. 65k miles now & PERFECT. Well, tires don't last but that may because of my driving style. 64k miles on rear brakes before changing rotors & pads. Fronts are still fine.
You are gonna LOVE this car!

Got it, thank you. I think there's a vin decoder on this site? When the site you provided didn't work, I googled the vin, and I the vin and it gave me the feature list and I swore it took me back here, but I can't seem to find it again. lol.

Nice! I hope it gives me relatively good reliability. I love the second row manual seats, coming from the 2021 GLE the power seats are incredibly slow and in my case unreliable.
Only issue I've had in my GLS was a couple days ago. The driver side power mirror seems to have stopped functioning and does not fold all the way in. I'm thinking it may need to be lubricated, but perhaps I will let the dealer figure it out since it is a CPO.

Thanks! Funny you mention Lasfit as I just put the same ones on last night on the low beams for now. It was recommended by someone else and came up on Amazon, and Youtube, so thought I'd try them out. Big difference in illumination and looks great. I'm used to retrofits in my other vehicles or vehicles that have HID/LED on them, so it was a big letdown when I found out they were halogens stock. I didn't want to deal with getting a retrofit into this SUV.

I couldn't tell since it was so late at night when I installed them and didn't think about it, but is the same access area for the low beam also allow access to the high beams?

The access for the highs are from inside the engine bay. Little easier to get to.
