2017 GLS450 - COMAND CONTROLLER A1669006 Access514 not working
Hello Folks
I purchased a 2017 GLS for my wife from another city in 2022 with 32K miles on it. After a month, she complained that the touchpad on top of the COMAND switch worked but not the rotary dial which she is used to - and the vehicle had this issue from the time we acquired it.
A quick call to the dealer confirmed that they had recently worked on something and I was told that they most likely "forgot" to put the harness back on (as the buttons by the rotary switch are neither illuminating nor working). They wanted me to bring the vehicle back for a couple of days and the issue would be fixed but I didn't have time to drive over there or leave the car.
I just need to get access to this part to rehook the harness. Even if this part is bad, I prefer to order one from the web and install it. So here is the question: I have dived deep into forums and the web - I cannot find instructions to disassemble the center console on a 2017 X166 to get to this part. Any help will be appreciated. The item I am referring to is part number: A1669006 - the one under the mouse/touchpad thingie majiggie. I have searched hi and dry for over three months and I cannot find a single video or instructions - everything leads to E or C class. Please help.
This car is new to me. Does it have Apple play because I’m having a heck of a time activating it. Also does Sirius satellite work with it? Thank you for your help
Yes - most of them came with the car play option. It ONLY works if you plug your "original" or true Apple-compatible cable into a specific USB slot inside the center console. There are two USB ports and one has a symbol of what appears to be an iPad. then you unlock your phone and it will ask you to activate car play on your phone. Also works with android. Apple carplay compatible port has an icon similar to this one.
