Air spring replacement and ride height sensor

I got the dreaded real wheels sagging on my 2019 gls450 and after reading the forums, was advised to just change out both the back air springs. I replaced them with arnotts air spring as recommended by many. When I went to replace them, the only way to get the air springs in out and replaced was to not only unscrew the ride height sensor but had to bend the metal attachment back to get the air bags out. I didn’t think to to bend the metal attachment for the ride height sensor back to its original spot and when I restarted the car, the back of the car is sitting lower then the front and not even. Now I’m thinking I need to adjust the ride height sensor back or do I need to bring this in and have the ride height sensor calibrated. Need some help on what to do with the ride height sensors, will it fix the height if I try to reposition the metal attachment of the ride height sensor or is calibration of both back sensors needed?

I got the dreaded rear air springs replacement message from my indy shop after he noticed the sag. A few questions:

(1) Is this normal at 110k miles?
(2) Estimate is $1192 for a pair of bilsteins (more for Benz OEM) + labor - does that sound right?

Thanks

I got a pair of airbags from AutoHausAZ for $500 and installed them myself. It was actually pretty easy. The right rear one had a ton of little pin-hole leaks, basically if you sprayed some Windex on it and filled it up a little with some air, you'd see a bunch of these little tiny bubbles start popping up. The left one was fine. The car only has 55k miles on it but it's a 2017. These are the bags I got, they've gone up some in price - https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/OE-1663200325

That said, yes, $1100 does sound right for OEM bags, plus the labor.

Thanks. Mine is also a 2017 but much higher mileage as it is a daily driver plus a lot of freeway miles from NorCal to Tahoe and SoCal. Benz recommends replacing both airbags on the axle, which makes sense to me.

Mine are still working, so I haven't experienced this yet, but I've heard the Arnott parts recommended and it looks like they're a mere $200 each...

Purchased a 2017 GLS and had Mercedes dealer replace rear air bags but it is still riding low compared to other similar years. Not low like a leak or busted bag. Took to an Indy shop and they said fine. Our 2012 GL rear sat so much higher. It almost feels like I am looking up when driving.

How do I know if ride height sensor is bad?

I don't know for sure, but I'd expect there is some sort of calibration adjustment.
