Custom exhaust setup on GLS450?
Hey all,
I decided to try and look for a good exhaust to give my 450 a bit more noise. I don't want something obnoxious so I'm not looking to straight pipe it but I do want to see if anyone is running supersprint, redstar exhaust, custom setups and possibly post videos? I cant compare the 550/GLS63 exhausts because the V8 gives it a nice tone already and different motors.
I saw supersprint sells a decent muffler and mid pipes specifically for x166 gls450 but I cant find any videos on how it might sound and before I shell out 2500, I'd like to see what options there are. I know certain GLE have the m276 motors but not sure if the exhaust sound would be similar, and if they are then I have a few ideas of what to get to give it a nice deep growl with out the highway drone.

Here is a sample video for your review.
I did my best to see if I could find a sample video for you to take a look at. We have so many different car applications It's just impossible to secure a sample video for each and every car model variant. We try our best. That being said, the video aof the Mercedes with the 4.3 Litee engine is a similar exhaust sample.
Your particular vehicle has the 4.5 liter engine.
The sound in the video will be very similar to your car model. In the event if you were to get the super sprint exhaust, the exhaust sound would be just as loud and probably a little louder due to the fact that your displacement is larger than the 4.3 Liter motor.
The video will give you a good accurate idea of what your Mercedes will sound like if you were to choose the Super Sprint exhaust for your car. I do my best for you and everyone else on this message board. Sure you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly via email.
