Folks
I am interested to know from anybody with first hand knowledge removing the transmission oil pan on the x166. The book says the rear engine mount must be removed to access some of the pan bolts. With some dexterity, persuasion and tools, can the pan be removed/replaced without removing the cross member? For example, can the drive train be lifted sufficiently and safely after removing the engine mount nuts to provide enough clearance to access the rear pan bolts? There is YouTube on how to do this with a GLE 350, just not sure it will work here.
Thanks
tom

Turns out that it is relatively easy to remove the pan without jacking the drive train. Turning the engine at the crank pulley in neutral to locate the torque converter plug is also straightforward

I am looking to do this service in the next few weeks, but I never considered draining the TC. Can you explain the process for that a little bit? is re-filling straigh forward, just add fluid and run engine in neutral?
