Question U-Haul Trailer Hitch Installation

Has anyone had U-Haul install their tow hitch? Looking to tow a boat about 5,000-6,000lbs, and am curious if anyone else has had an experience with them installing the hitch. I got quoted about $800 for install out the door. Also if anyone is knowledgeable about Mercedes' Active Curve System, I have been looking all over the place, called dealership, and inspected vehicle under the hood and have determined that my vehicle doesn't have the ACS. 2017 Mercedes GLS 450. All advice is appreciated

I would get quotes from other places besides U Haul. They are not known for their meticulous work.

Very few 450s had ACS. if you look up your VIN on lastvin, look to see if it has 468 Active Curve System. I would second Mike's thought, check out someone other than UHaul. And honestly pushing toward the towing limits like that I would be more comfortable with the factory install hitch which also includes electronic sway control, which is why I made factory hitch was on it.

Go to etrailer.com and look for their list of installers. I had a Volvo with a hitch that was installed by Uhaul. No complaints.

Thank all of y'all for input, I forgot to mention that I have spoken to my Mercedes dealer nearby us and they said they won't install a hitch and that Mercedes won't touch a car that didn't come from the port with it on?

Specs say the GLS 450 is good for 7500 lbs, but is that with factory installed hitch and towing prep? Don't know how it is on the GLS, but most manufacturers add additional cooling and some even add beefier brakes on their towing package equipped models.
You say the boat is 5000 to 6000 lbs, (kind of a big number swing), but is that just the boat or boat and trailer weight?
Like others have suggested, find a reputable installer if MB doesn't want to do it. Did you call other MB dealers about a factory tow receiver retrofit?
