not happy with how it shifts so i am going to replace it,this is basically the same chain like on a W164,this doesnt fit cars with offroad package although i read some say it fits,it will be interesting to see how streched it is,you will need around half a liter of MB 236.14 fluid
before and after,significant difference it should drive smoother,also i have a input shaft seal leaking so i ordered that too p/n 169973646,fluid that came out was around 400ml and i think factory spec is around 500ml
bolts have blue thread lock on them so you have to get a power tool because it takes a lot of effort,
i used wurth gasket maker,cleaned the magnet,used new thread lock loctite 243,cleaned the mating surfaces with a brake cleaner on a cloth and torqued them all to 34nm,
drain and fill plugs you torque to 25nm
replaced the input shaft seal,at first look you couldnt see much fluid but when i removed the safety ring fluid was right there between the ring and seal,looks that this new seal has thicker rubber or its just brand new vs old,
you have to remove the cross member plate and drop the transmission all the way down to be able to reach 2 top bolts,then you needf a second support device for the transfer case,
these bolts should be torqued to 47nm but there is no way to put a torque wrench there
