Thanks for the latest DOG. Always appreciated. Now...

Funny how page 7 is crooked. Duplicated call-out on p9. The usual "it's" typos on p12.

No Nappa leather, and only one Exclusive Nappa option.

Note to all: Carwash feature is standard on all.

The "Executive Rear Seat Package Plus" isn't the same thing as in an S-Class. No deep recline, foot rests, pillows, tables, console, etc. It really should be called "Rear Multicontour Seats".

I don't know whether to be more disappointed with the three typos on p48, or that option D24 is available at all! :-)

Really disappointed that they're sticking with Burmester in the base audio system. At least 3D is $1,800 less than in an S-Class.

Boy they're going almost Porsche-crazy with the option list. No wonder they have production issues.

Bring on the 63!

The off-road package (item 430) is listed in the dealer ordering guide as an option costing $1,900. It also requires an underguard (included with the off-road package and with the e-active body control package.

Thanks for the watch outs.
I figure were are no earlier than Jan anyway.

My dealer did start an order with black not Dinamica so I see it on a draft order as $0, but I’ll double check.

Black Dinamica is a $1600 option on all GLS models.

2. GLS580 production is schedule to start min-Nov - and all dealer have their Nov/Dec # - and there will be damn few - if your dealer has not gotten you a actual factory PO - then frankly you have zero chance for a GLS580 this year except by act-of-God

At the bottom of every spec sheet is the note "Mercedes Reserves The Right...blah, blah"

If your Spec sheet has a option that shows $0 - that means it is NOT zero but will be updated later - and check against the most recent DOG to see what that future updated price will be.

So all this discussion on Off-Road-Package - please check the DOG yourself - and understand your Sales Adviser that let you leave with Build Sheet in hand with you thinking Off-Road is $0 - then that Sales Adviser is either too slick - or too stupid - to know how to go over a 2020 GLS Build-Sheet properly with you...
So I guess the Netstar build sheet for my GLS580 order that showed $0 for side airbags is wrong too?
What's the current thinking on rear side airbags with kids? When I bought our '14GL550, the thinking was not to get rear side airbags with kids.

A couple weeks ago I was offered Dec but we are waiting for H35 trim, not available until Jan.
Also surprised still that the Energizing package doesn't have corrected price for 580 since $1500 of the features are already included in the 580 - it should be about $600 by my count.

Rear side airbags (293) were $420 on my GLE. I didn't intend to get them, but my SA accidentally added them and my order locked down.

I'm hoping to order a GLS450 by the end of the year. (waiting for some folks to get theirs and see how the reviews are).
hey there did you order your gls 450? What build date did you get? I am planning to order in Jan first week and i live in Toronto. Dealer is suggesting March production date. Is that reasonable?

My first order was on 10/11/2019 and dealer said production in 2nd decade January with delivery end of February or early March.
My second order (with a dealer that's further away but gave a much higher discount) was on 11/13/2019 and was also given a 2nd decade January production with late February/Early March delivery.
As of yesterday, the 2nd dealer said the system is still showing an estimated production the 2nd decade of January with late February/early March delivery.

So if all goes well, my car should be going into production in the next week or two and should be on the way out to west coast before end of the month.

Depending on the size of the dealer, a March production on an early January order sounds reasonable. The first dealer I ordered with is a small town dealer and didn't have many production slots. The second dealer is a much bigger dealer with over 16 stores in 4 states so they had a lot of production slots available. So even though they ordered it a month after the first dealer, the estimated production week was the same between the two dealers.

We ordered our GLS 450 toward the end of August last year. That order went into the Bermuda Triangle until we got a PO number in October and then a build date of November 22nd. Then it got delayed, was supposed to be delivered in first week of December, but that got delayed to the end of the month, and then to the first week in January. That got delayed, but the end appears to be in sight. Our vehicle is supposed to be at the dealer next week and it finally looks like a go. Lost all faith in the dealer so I wrote to MB headquarters to get a status. Heard back right away and something clearly was up with the dealer because the next thing we know the sales person got fired, which we never wanted to happen. Could be just a coincidence it happened so near our inquiry or that ours was not the only angry one. But it should be in our hands at long last, just in time for the snowy winter in the Northeast. Went on the web today and saw that there appear to be a lot of 580s in dealer inventories, which is kind of frustrating, because we ordered a 450 instead of a 580 which is what we really preferred because MB thought we'd get one sooner. A January order with a late March delivery sounds about right.

There was a price increase on Jan 1, given it appears the dealer screwed up, you should ask them to refund that to you.

Yes, there was a price increase as of Jan. 1 and the dealer did refund that to us. But we want some accessories like all-weather mats and pre-paid service and the MB website still reflects lower prices than do the dealers prices so we're going to have to get that settled too.

My dealer had the front all weather mats in stock but nothing else - no rear or third row, no storage compartment mat. I checked with WeatherTech and they don’t have anything either. I guess I’ll have to get through this Winter with just the fronts.

Still waiting to hear what the dealer has in stock on our mats. I checked the WeatherTech site and they seem to have front row floor liners (as opposed to floor mats) and rear cargo liners, but nothing for second row or third row. WeatherTech prices are cheaper, not surprising, but not by a huge amount. Thinking about chrome door handle inserts from MB.

Is anyone planning to get vinyl wrap? If so, who has a kit for the 580?

A gaggle of MB's
2nd row mats have not been released yet - remember there "should be" two version - one for 7-seat and one for 6-seat - 2nd row a new-tooling thing since it needs to cover more area due to 2nd row seat "adjusting" front-back - kindof a bigger deal than just adjusting front mat dimensions.

Good points as to the 2nd row mats. I would have thought MB (or its 3rd party supplier) would have thought ahead about that. MB is offering 3rd row floor all-weather mats on its website and a "shallow" all-weather cargo mat which I think presumes the 3rd row seating is upright.

Mercedes SLS & S Class
Lloyd Mats has All Weather Mats for the Mercedes GLS450 and 580. Here is a link: https://www.lloydmatsstore.com/catal...ory/view/id/6/

I called and talked with Weathertech and they expect to have the 2nd row mats available in 6 -8 weeks.

Not vinyl but ppf and makes it matte...

Thanks. Don't know much about Lloyds but I'll check them out. Or, if necessary I'll wait for the WeatherTech if MB doesn't plan on having anything in stock in or around the same time. We're already in snow season here so that's a bummer but not too big a deal.

are you going to wrap just the front in matte or the whole vehicle?

To go matte you will need to cover the whole vehicle.
I will do that and it will look amazing I hope!
