GLS Overhead camera

Anybody know what these markings mean on the GLS’ overhead camera? This hatched pattern will appear and usually disappears in a few seconds. This time it stayed on for about 30 seconds.

Don’t think it’s a camera failure as I can still see the view under the hatched pattern. I don’t seem to be able to find anything about it in the manual

part of gesture control.its giving you an option to click on individual cameras.Notice it disappears in a few seconds and appears when you put your hand near touch pad or the screen.

ahh. I don’t get the gesture control. Maybe it’s because I just don’t understand it, but I find it gets in the way. My wife wanted it. I think she thought you could program it to recognize the middle finger and get the car to do something 😬

I thought these buttons appear whenever I stop reversing or when I change gear. I eventually figured out that it was actually being triggered by my hand when I reach for the gear stalk.

The gesture control in its current form is mostly pointless. All you can do is turn on some lights and assign one favorite. I'm sure they'll be developing it more over the years. I know that BMW has more controls like changing the volume.
