Cars are built by Mercedes "decades" -- 10-day scheduling periods. This notation is in NetStar. For example, if your decade is 10/03, that would mean you car would be scheduled for production in the 3rd 10 day period of October.

I know right. After it arrived they found a chip on the windshield and it took more than a week for the replacement to arrive. It was finally ready yesterday.

oh man, well I guess you were lucky in a sense. I think there’s a thread about GLE windshields not being available for months. That would have been a nightmare! Hopefully things go smooth from here on out!

I’m waiting on 580 since January. No scheduled date. I’m wondering if I need to shop dealers, but I prefer to be loyal. I assume I won’t get ‘20. But they are vague, I think to keep me from leaving??? Or do they really not know???

Dealers are generally honest so most likely they don't know.. when I followed up a couple of times in Jun, my dealer gave me an option of waiting, cancel and get the deposit back or put a new order for 2021 for delivery in Feb 2020. In Canada there is hardly any difference in 2020 and 2021 model so I decided to wait and got mine last weekend.

2024 GLS 450
I am waiting for a 2020 GLS 450 that I ordered in February. The original production time was late April for mid-May delivery. After the shut-down, it was delayed until late July production. My dealer has kept me informed every step of the way. The VIN was assigned a couple of weeks ago and showed "produced not shipped" yesterday.
I considered shifting over to a 2021, but that would have meant either dropping the E-ABC and Exclusive Trim or upgrading to the 580.
