I have reached out to a few dealers across the country and I was able to get a couple of offers for ~$8k off a well equipped GLS 450 ($91k MSRP). Do you guys think that is a good deal? What is everyone else getting right now?

I got 11% off my GLS450 RIGHT when the lockdown started (the dealership's last day of the sales floor being open) here in Atlanta, GA. They only would deal with cars on their lot for those deals. I know most dealerships are offering 0% financing on 36 months on very select 2019/2020 models, but they aren't dealing as much off the top when offering that financing.

I'm not sure what you're expecting from this post. You probably want to email your dealers and ask for their best price on that build order. But given dealers can't even get allocations for the 580 orders they have (I ordered last fall and my spring build will now be a '21 - and I'm still not sure when I'll get a spot), I can't see them negotiating on price. Off the lot would be your best negotiating angle.
If the date you need it is firm, then maybe the dealer you pick is the one that can get an allocation in your time frame. But keep in mind that everything is uncertain with COVID-19 - even scheduling and the rate they can produce cars will probably change over time. Everything we know is now unknown.
I'm in Texas and am looking forward to 2021 order book, I want to buy GLS580 with almost every option, I used MBUSA to build what I want and it was $113,390 MSRP in January. 12-15% off MSRP would be good, cash buyer here. I'm looking for a November/December delivery, thinking to have that delivery, need to place order in September.
Discount on the 580 are not as much as I was expecting. I tried to call a few dealers about a low MSRP 580 and they wouldn't offer much off. I am sure that will change over time. But I am not sure if 12%+ is even possible.
Even before COVID - GLS580 production was very/very limited - and due to COVID - 2021 GLS580 will start later - and thru the end of 2020 deliver "few" GLS580's.
In Txs you do have a good cross-section of Mercedes dealers in Metro areas - but frankly with limited factory delivery of GLS580's - if any Tx dealer had their choice - on GLS580's they would charge MSRP/Plus.
You might need to re-examine your discount expectation - if you want Fall delivery - I would say you will be paying about $10K more than you are "thinking" right now.
Just to give everyone an update on this... I ended up getting the GLS. It's supposed to be delivered in a few days. It has the full executive rear seat package. I hope to do a review on it when it gets delivered.
Along with the 8k off I also got the 0% financing. And I was surprised to find out that Mercedes is taking $750 off the first payment! It was a nice added bonus.
It would make this thread more useful if people indicated whether the purchase of the GLS involved trading in another car. I noticed that in general the dealerships will give you more off the MSRP if they are making it back by undervaluing your trade in. Being that the value of a trade in so complicated to calculate, the new GLS purchases that don’t involve a trade in will me a much better sample set for establishing a realistic baseline for deals in the post covid-19 market.

I didn't have a trade in (it was done thru an out-of-state dealer). The reason I was even considering the deal was because of the 0% financing from Mercedes. With the additional $750 loan credit I was able to get nearly $9k off the $91k MSRP.
I called quite a few dealers before I made the purchase. It seems like the dealers in the northeast are more willing to negotiate. Most dealers I called were only willing take off 3 to 5 percent, but if you hunt around you can find some good deals (especially on some of the higher spec. 450s).
I had a trade in but the dealer already agreed to the negotiated price prior to knowing about it.
As for the trade-in, I was able to negotiate a price that was slightly higher than what Carvana would have given me and considering I saved around $1200 in taxes, was well worth it.
Interested to know which dealer if you can share some info! Looking in the NJ area, very difficult to find more than 8%.
I got close to 10% from a dealership in Long Island. PM me if you want the info. The trick is finding something on a lot that fits your needs. The ones sitting on the lot are getting the best deals.
Oh and I'm in NJ. They are bringing me the car here and picking up the trade-in.

my local dealer used to give me from 10 to 12% off most of the cars I purchased from them but they sucked after new ownership!
do you guys have the info of a certain person at the dealers you are dealing with to reach out to right away?
Shopping for GLS for my wife.
To give everyone an update. Locked in a deal with a local dealer on an in stock GLS450. 10.5% off pre-incentives, which is 13.1% off total. Cheaper than my outgoing 2017 GLS450.
Lease terms are best for 48 months for those interested.
thanks to those that PM me, shopping around at those dealers helped bring the cost down on the model I wanted!!
Congrats! I also purchased a 2020 GLS450 there. Ordered 11/2019 and Delivered 2/2020. MSRP $93,160 and I got about 9.1% off at the time in November. I purchased though not leased. Seems like current deals for available lot models are great!
Yea 9% back in November is very good! Car was hot and no pandemic at that time! I think one can get 11% off pre incentives if they look for an aged model. I was looking for something specific hence couldn’t find many dealers with it.
