My GLS450 @ 1,835 Miles

I wanted to give an update on my 2021 GLS after the first month. I am happy to report that I am extremely pleased with my new Vehicle. The quality and workmanship are exactly what you expect from Mercedes Benz I have experienced driving in various weather conditions. A few observations:
  • Driving in the snow yesterday on I-77, the radar sensor became obstructed and disabled the cruise control.
  • I had to disable the Speed Limit Assist. While on cruise control it would randomly pick up exit ramp speed limits and rapidly reduce the speed unexpectedly. Also, I normally don't drive the speed limit...
  • The rear hatch lock button has not worked a couple of times. I had to close the hatch with the left close button and lock with the key fob. This has only happened twice but will keep my eye on it.
  • Still working to learn everything about the MBUX system. Everything is super cool, but all of the options in regards to functionality take time to understand.
  • Not a big deal for me, but "Hey Mercedes" doesn't understand my wife's English. She is Latina and "Hey Mercedes" doesn't understand her English with her accent... She actually has to touch the buttons to turn on her seat massage... A cool option would be for Mercedes to speak Spanish on the passenger side.

Do you have the gesture camera option? If so you can program the hand gesture shortcut to activate massage for her. The car distinctly recognizes the same hand gesture for driver and passenger so you each can have a separate shortcut programmed. Or if she's driving I guess you have to program both to the same. Better than nothing I hope. 😅
