4matic question
My GLS has 10k on it. All of a sudden it sucks in adverse weather. I was in the rain today (not heavy rain) And I was fishtailing all over the road at 50 mph
not sure what is going on. Not sure if my 4 wheel is not working. It seems like when it is raining or snowing, my car can’t keep straight on the road.
Any suggestions? How do I know if the 4 wheel is on? It’s very strange.

I’m bringing it in tomorrow for my A service and I’m going to ask. I just wanted to know if anyone else was having issues with their car in that type of weather. The car feels like it’s all over the road even in slightly windy conditions. I’m not sure what’s going on

How do your tires look? Start with simple things. 22 or 23 inch performance tires do not last long. Rain should not be an issue even with 4-Matic if your tires as worth a damn. The vehicle weighs 7000 pounds even if it was only RWD it would not matter in the rain, unless your tires are toast.

Well then to the dealer...still not convinced 4-Matic has anything to do with rain. If it was snow, ice, and slush on the roads maybe. 20 & 21's are all season so should be no issue there. Curious what dealer comes up with...keep us posted. Good Luck.

Just to eliminate one variable and save diagnostic time at the Dealer, make sure the tire pressure is where you expect before going in.

Faulty and defective Cooper tires. Cooper is paying for all four tires to be replaced. Hopefully that was the only problem. I will let you know once I get it back and drive it around

I had an OE Pirelli go bad and just assumed I had hit something. I didn't even present it to the dealer.

Could you please clarify the problem with the tires? Did your service representative assist you in getting Cooper to replace the set? My GLS 450 has the Cooper Discoverer A/S tires (20") and two are nearly worn out with just 8800 miles. The worst wear rate I've ever seen on an OEM tire.

Can you post photos of the tires? Or of one tire that is faulty?

It must be the tires. I changed my tires to Michelins and the difference is night and day
