Got mine at 7.5% off at a dealer in NJ. I was looking for a pretty specific spec so I didnt have a ton to choose from and leverage discount too hard. Thought 7-8% was fair. If you're flexible on colors and options, my guess is you can go even deeper by having more options out there.
Since I had read this thread, and seeing the The Critic post about 8% and then everyone wanting to know about that deal - that is where I set my target before employer incentive. I did not quite get there - but got really close.
Will also add that since I was looking for something very specific and little hard to find at the moment due to the chip shortage (a well equipped 450 with multi contour seats, 21" wheels, and black headliner/interior) I also reached out to dealers in others parts of the country - Texas, Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey. Was willing to fly out for delivery and drive home if I found what I wanted. All of them seemed less willing to offer the prices I was seeing here in LA -- most went to around 5% off MSRP claiming inventory is tight. And from searching mbusa I would agree - there are 50+ 450s and 580s each here in the LA area (though the 450s are all lower msrp range) vs. many other areas where the stock is lower. Though even one of them did come back yesterday after I already bought my car Monday - so perhaps they were just hoping theirs would sell last weekend - and there was still a month end deal to be had.

For leverage on a GLS, the X7 being just above on the list is probably relevant - at least in competitive markets. Only visited two BMW dealers but saw very aggressive offers from both for an X7 plus BMW has .9% financing with $2500 incentive at the moment that would have been additional.

Hi - I am New here. In Northern NJ area. I am coming from other brands (BMW and Volvo). Looking to lease a '21 GLS 450. Spoke with a local dealer and he quoted me 1.5% off MSRP. I have negotiated my previous cars on invoice + markup basis. Can someone recommend a dealer who maybe willing to get to 8-10% range off MSRP or invoice + markup basis? Appreciate the help. Thanks

Deals seem to be drying up as the new inventory shortage (for a variety of reasons) starts to bite. I wouldn't expect much off the selling price, 2-4% given the current climate. BUT... you are in a stronger position to negotiate a better trade in value AND maybe some other items like an extended warranty, accessories, pre-paid maintenance, etc. The longer this "shortage" of inventory goes on, the slimmer the deals off MSRP are going to be. Local dealer normally stocks about 120 or so new vehicles, they are down to around 20 this week. Regional impacts may vary, but any new, in-stock, vehicle is becoming a hotter commodity and dealers know it and act accordingly.
