GL450
And I thought my GL450 was expensive...

Wow, I guess its more comparable to the GLS580 with perhaps the E-ABC, but Grand Wagoneer base staring at $88K MSRP was shocking to see.

Yep. We discussed waiting for the Jeep and nurse the old Toyota along. But then when I read they were going to be in the $90k+ territory, we said “why Jeep when we can have a Benz?” Then read further on the Jeep and started to see some pictures of it, and thought “why $90k for a Durango redo?”

We picked wisely.

hard for me to accept that my home field players are more expensive. I looked at the Lincoln Aviator too when comparing to the GLS and thought “this is Ford trying to copy Range Rover, like Hyundai/Kia trying to copy Benz/Bmw”. For this kind of money - I don’t want a “copy” of anything. I want the real deal...

I believe its one size class up at 214' inches long, and its body on frame so more of an Escalade competitor. The "regular" Wagoneer competes with the Tahoe/Suburban at the $60k price range. I think they will sell. Jeep is currently FCA's cash cow, and people are buying Grand Cherokees and Wranglers that are well into the $70k range, and Jeep owners are loyal and not your average mainstream buyer.

A couple of things to put this into perspective. Chrysler is no more, having merged with Peugeot.
And the average car sold in the US is now north of $38,000. $100k isn't rarified air these days.

I just can't see sitting in the service area in a hard plastic chair drinking coffee out of a Styrofoam cup while my $100K Jeep is in for service. I had a Challenger and a 300C - both great cars and Keffer Dodge here in town has an excellent service department - but it was anything but posh.

Peugeot & Fiat. There are two brands that I’d be will to spend $100k on....
