First issue....

Well, my first repair issue has arrived, and it's not one that I would have expected from Mercedes after all the years of them having to deal with this...

The MBTex on driver's seat side bolster is splitting apart. It's right on the top surface of that left leg support piece, just pulling itself apart and not at the seam, but right down the middle.

Oh joy. A visit to the dealership. $20 says it's not their fault, "this never happens", blah blah blah. That is, until I introduce them to the W212 crowd. What in the world, Mercedes? It's been 10 years of the 212 crowd barking about the MBTex coming apart. How could you not have fixed this design flaw by now? Seriously, anyone from the R&D department paying attention to the warranty department folks? Come on.....

Somewhat commonly reported in the X/V167 forums, unfortunately. Should be a warranty item.

Wow. My W210 had MB tex and I drove that car for 127,000 miles for fifteen years. Never had a problem with my upholstery. I guess they made them different then.

I had that on my C300 a few years ago, It was replaced under warranty. I have not seen it in any subsequent vehicles.

I have MBtex on my 2007 GL 450 and never experienced this. It doesn't have ventilated seats though. I think all those perforations are the source of the problem.
