Warranty work on 2020 GLS 450 - remanufactured parts?
I have a 2020 GLS 450 with less than 4000 miles on it that needed a Right Low Temperature coolant pump. The service order description says it’s a reman coolant pump.
I googled the part number (000-500-65-00-80) and the parts that come up are refurbished.
is this normal for a car under factory warranty? Should I call about why a new part was not used?
That’s my first thought as well... and I bet I am way off on the mileage. Probably more than that, I don’t drive the car my wife does so don’t pay attention to the mileage.

I'd more concerned about getting used parts on a car in warranty......that seems very '2020' to me LOL, you know......the year that sucked for modern day humans.

That is my concern. And I bet they will use the standard “Because of Covid” excuse.
Mercedes warranty conditions allow for the use of re-manufactured parts. I think most manufacturers do as well, but they generally only will actually use them on "certain" parts.
Right from the (Pre-Covid) Warranty booklet that comes with your vehcile.
Edit: I should add, in regards to the "Certain" parts I've mentioned, I've seen manufacturers use remanufactured water pumps, radio head units, AC units off the top of my head.
