Red light camera function?

Hi All;
Just got a lovely 21 GLS450 and am sorting my way through all the setups. One thing I came across that puzzles me.... There is a function, I don't recall the menu selection name exactly at the moment (but I think it's called something like "red light assist" or "traffic light assist"), that brings up the forward facing camera and displays it on the center screen when stopped at an intersection. Interesting feature, but WHY? Does it do anything other than just project what is already in front of me? I can't seem to find a succinct description of this function in the manual. Now, my GLS does not have the big driver assist package so I know it can't read traffic signs, etc. but I am curious as to exactly what the functionality of this feature is. If one could shed some light on this, or perhaps reference the functions name so I can look it up in the manual or on line, it would be greatly appreciated!

a
Traffic Light View is for anytime your view of the light is blocked. Such as when you are pulled too far forward, the sun is in your eyes, or you have the sun visor down.

Somewhat related: I’ve encountered one traffic light (on an I-5 ramp intersection) where the Car-to-X protocol shows me a countdown timer until the light will turn green.

I come across Car-to-X enabled traffic lights fairly often, and my dash countdown timer is never accurate. In fact, the countdown has never even come close to being accurate. Does it work for anyone else?

Actually came on for the first time today, and it was accurate. I was very surprised to see it.

Only if your GLS is as dusty as my GLE was at the time - LOL.

You must have "Driving Assistance Package"....
