GLS Car Seat Questions

Hi -

Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with car seats in the current model GLS? We have a 3-year old in a forward facing convertible and a 1 month old in a nuna pipa. I'm wondering if we get the 7 seater with 2nd row bench and we can install the nuna pipa base in the middle (using seat belt attachment as there are no LATCH's in the middle of the 2nd row) can we still use the forward tilting right seat to access the 3rd row? Or will the pipa base block the movement of the right hand seat to access the 3rd row? We just ordered a 6 seater set up to avoid the issue but wondering if 7-seats might be a better bet in the long run assuming we can still access the 3rd row? And I suppose in a year or two whether we can install a convertible in the middle seat in 2nd row when the youngest gets larger?

I found this vide about car seats in the prior GLS and even thought the new GLS is larger, just not sure if it will work in the new GLS.

Thanks,

regardless of whether you can get the unoccupied seat to fold forward to access the third row or not, you need to ask yourself whether or not you really want to try to load/unload a baby seat into the middle. when they’re 7-10lbs, maybe not terrible, but what happens when they get heavier? do you climb into the car with the car seat, or do you try to lift it into the center?
we have a 3yo and expecting #2 in january. we decided the captain’s chair is better suited for us - one kid loaded on each side and a center passage to the 3rd row if/when necessary.

I would be shocked if you can get a convertible in the outboard seat, an infant in the middle seat and still have access to the third row. And I really don’t think two convertibles will work, when they’ve outgrown the Pipa. Also, do you want your kids directly next to each other? Mine poke and grab each other and make me crazy. We have the six seater but three kids, one in a high back booster in the third row, one forward facing convertible in the second row and a rear facing convertible in the second row. I’ve always loaded my kids on the right side of the car- open the door and the big kids climb to their seats while I load the baby. But the center console from the front seats juts out so much, the big kids don’t have much room to climb, especially with backpacks. I know the seven seater console doesn’t jut out so much, so this might be one benefit.
