will 18in wheels fit? its damn near impossible to find aftermarket offroad wheel options for the gls which is a shame because it has such good offroad ability - sadly the wheel selection is trash from benz
Maybe not for me, but I'd love to see a GLS with meaty 33's.
thats basically the goal. will be just shy of 33 32.6 same overall diameter as the 23s on the gls maybach. If i could get the air suspension spacer things sooner id have done 33`s but figure a .4 inch difference wont matter (at least thats what my gf tells me)
I think i found a pretty decent setup in a set of 20” HRE wheels, wrapped in a Nitto Ridge Grappler’s in size 275/50/20 (the same size as the g63 trail package). I wanted a brushed or silver finish, but ended up going w a matte black finish w a polished black lip.

oh wow thats basically the same style wheel im going for. Looks bad ***. Hows road noise?

WOW this look fantastic. I'm actually kind of jealous that we didn't think of this setup before haha!
@Benzworktruck If you're interested in these I can help you out with an order. We're HRE's largest dealer in the world so we have a great relationship with their head engineer. We can work together on pushing the envelope and seeing if we can get this model in 18's to clear everything. Let me know.
Actually replied to this a few days ago, but in the wrong thread. WOW! Miserkye, those wheels and tire look great. It's wild seeing a GLS with some personality.
How's the ride and tire noise? I drove a new defender with off road tires before ordering a GLS and I couldn't believe how nice the it drove. I thought the off road tires on 19's would be noisy and sloppy on roads, but it a non issue. I could totally live with them.

The ride is a few notches off from the absolute comforts of the stock settings. With the meatier tires, my biggest worry was not with comfort or road noise, but rather with on-road traction. These Nitto Ridgegrapplers grip pretty damn well, if I must say so myself, and I believe is better performing than the previous comps that I have have tested with other vehicles: Cooper ZION LTZ, Hankook Dynapro ATM and Nitto Terragrappler. I am done playing with oversized wheels, and am all about these meaty tire setups. My wife now wants to change her stock 22's to 20's and have a similar look on her gle43 coupe

No. I tried to get my old X166 18" winters on and they touch the X167 brake assembly. 19"s are the the minimum size that will fit. (Euro X167s are offered with 19" rims.)
