What are producion codes B9 and D3?
B9 (blocked from shipment) and
D3 (VPC delayed)
Anyone able to decipher what these codes mean (besides the obvious)?
So aggravated as one by one, my replacement GLS has had options removed from the build. Who knows what it will be when it finally arrives.
Original 2020 GLS has 3rd row heat and tartufo seats and of course wireless charging, all not available in the new GLS. Original GLS also has air balance package, Augmented navigation, heated/cooled cupholders...which have now all been eliminated in the new GLS.
Fought hard to get at least the 549 head unit MBUX, so the U19 Augnented navigation and dashcam could be retrofitted, but after multiple emails and phone calls by my dealership (who have been great), apparently only 548 head units are available.
And the replacement GLS was ordered with 22" wheels, which I come to find out are summer tires. So I researched winter tires and found only 1 set are MB spec. But accd to MB parts dept., the fronts on this staggered set up are not available until next October. This is an issue since Im in NY and the car is (well...was) expected to arrive in February.
To say Im frustrated is a complete understatement.

Just to let you know a few things about your build and lack of features, from what I understand:
-Tartufo interior was dropped due to supply issues with the leather supplier and lack of demand.
-heated third row seats are also a mix of lack of supply and lack of demand.
-AR Nav, cup holder upgrades, air balance, and wireless charging are all temporary shortages due to chips and supply issues, All in very high demand.
-22 inch wheels have always been summer only tires. I’m sorry the dealership didn’t make it more clear. I wouldn’t worry about getting non OM spec tires if the reviews are good. If you go on tire rack and could find a park if Michelin’s or Continentals or Pirellis with good reviews, I would be pretty comfortable getting those.
