Folks - I have just submitted a build for 2022 - GLS 450 and the dealership reported back with a production date of end of July and deliver of Vehicle by mid August 2022 timeframe. I have purchased this vehicle on MSRP and I am not paying any premium or market adjustment price. I live in Pennsylvania. I would like to if a delivery timeframe of 6-7 months at this point is normal? However they said there is a good chance the move it earlier. I am wondering if folks in this group are experiencing similar timelines for delivery of the vehicle. Please advise.

When was your order placed? Our latest allocations are for July builds so that would be right in line with what you were quoted.

I work for a dealership so my information is coming from Netstar allocations. It looks like you got on the Q1 allocations that just dropped in this week so your dealer is right in line with what I'm seeing.

Thats good to know. Do you think there is a good chance the delivery may move it earlier? Additionally if we change any option does this impact production/delivery date of the vehicle?

It seems as though production dates have stayed pretty conservative given world issues. There is a chance you'll bump a few weeks ahead but I wouldn't expect anything too soon.

One more question - If we change any option in the car in next week or so does this may change the production/delivery date of the vehicle?

Nope, you'll be okay. If you make changes after production has started, (if your dealer allows it) then you will likely be bounced to a later build date. Right now your car only exists in the figment of your (and MB) imagination.

What?! MSRP price? Interesting, most to some dealers are charging 10K-20K over MSRP and adding a luxury tax. As for production orders, it will take a while since there's a chip shortage, employee shortage, and so on that's going on in the world. I've spoke to my dealer about building a GLS and they said, "Oh man, you're not looking it until around mid-August the least.". I instead viewed what they had already in production and almost ready to ship. So I placed my order on November for my GLS and it's expected delivery on February as I'm writing this message. Basically, yeah that seems right when they told you around summer time you'll possibly get it.

How early does Mercedes lock builds? I have a mid feb date and dealer said no changes about a month ago. Its no problem for me, but seemed odd to lock things down so early.

My order was placed on Jan 24th and my dealership has given me until March 01 to make any changes to my build. On a side node I am wondering if the production date of the vehicle is six months from now then if anyone may have received any update on chance of getting NFC chargers. Additionally does anyone know if Mercedes is looking to face lift GLS in next year or so.

Thanks!

My dealership contacted me last night and mentioned that Mercedes has bumped up the production date and now instead of July they will be producing my vehicle in April and with an expected delivery of mid May timeframe. Not sure if this is happening for others in the group.

Does anyone know where to find info on the MBUX version in the facelift? The new version from videos seems to have a lot of the illustrations of the MBUX 2.0 on the C and S class......like on the instrument cluster, etc. However, it's not the huge tablet version like the C and S class...

So I wonder if those with pre-facelifts can get the software updated or coded to the newer MBUX. More importantly, I am wondering if the MBUX in the facelift now has a way to show Carplay full screen.

I do not believe its possible for MBUX 1.0 cars to be upgraded. And yes, MBUX 2.0 does have full screen carplay for the GLS facelift.
