Turn off vehicle locator

Hi, have a 2022 GLS and would like to turn off the vehicle location function. I disabled it in the Mercedes Me Connect App, but I can still locate the car in the app. Say, when my wife goes to the grocery store and I’m at home, I can see her location on my phone. My goal is to have the car stop sending its location. Is there a way to do that?

You can turn it off in the car, under the settings menu.

Planning on heading to places that you don't want your wife to know, eh?

Hi, would someone be able to point me to the right screen to turn it off in the car? I found the setting under the Mercedes Me category, and the setting has a check mark next to it, but I am unable to “uncheck” it. On the right, it says, I have access to this feature until a year or so from now.

Separately, I find that when I make changes to settings from the Mercedes Me Connect app, those changes are not reflected in the car. (Similar to the issue above) For example, the car came with audible lock off, and I turned it on from the app, but it did not change the setting in the car, and I hard to turn it on in the car for it to beep when I lock the car. I was able to find the setting in the car for audible lock, so I don’t mind doing it in the car, but for Location Tracking, either I don’t see the correct setting, or I am unable to turn it off.

thanks!

Head to

Settings - System - WiFi & Bluetooth
Scroll down to "Transmit Vehicle Position" and switch it off.

Thanks…unfortunately, that option is not on my version of MBUX! Any other ideas?

Interesting, and no sorry no other ideas.
Not very often I wish I didn’t have an option - but in this case I would prefer it to be impossible to turn off. We don’t have a concern about sharing location within our family, but I would rather a potential thief couldn’t turn the tracking off.

Hi, just thought I’d follow up. My issue is when I change the settings in the Mercedes Me Connect App, those settings are tied to my user profile. But in my car, the Guest profile was active. When I change to my user profile in the car, I see the settings as they should be per my changes in the App. Thanks everyone!
